Usually, mothers who gave natural birth to large babies, or if the childbirth itself was difficult or complicated, experience many post-partum problems. Women often suffer from perineal tear or intentional perineal incision. The healing process of such a wound depends on the specific features of the patient’s body, but also on proper hygiene. This might often lead to complications. Scars occur that are thick and cause pain during any activity.
DER-MED Centre comes to the rescue, offering post-partum plastic surgery and laser procedures that will support tissue regeneration, reduce scars and improve the appearance of the intimate parts.
During a consultation, an experienced gynaecologist will not only offer advice, but will also determine a treatment plan with the patient. For example, a plastic surgery of a vaginal vestibule defect or a surgical correction of a vaginal scar can be proposed.
Vaginal scar correction involves cutting out the old scar and replacing sutures. An indication for this procedure is usually an abnormal vaginal healing process that causes the patient to feel pain during a physical or sexual activity.
The plastic surgery of vaginal vestibule defect is often chosen by patients who have experienced a difficult childbirth. In many cases, the vagina and perineum become torn or stretched.

1. 1. Gynaecologist consultation
During a medical consultation, the gynaecologist discusses the problem with the patient and determines the course of action. The doctor also orders necessary tests.
2. 2. First procedure
Before the doctor starts the procedure, the patient receives local anaesthesia. Then, using a scalpel, the doctor removes the old scar. Finally, sutures and a dressing are applied.
3. 3. Post-procedure follow-up.
During a follow-up visit with the patient, the doctor removes the sutures and assesses the wound healing process.
Preparation for the procedure
The procedure requires certain preparations from the patient. You need to do the tests ordered by the doctor and deliver the results to our Centre before the procedure.
In order to increase the safety of the procedure as much as possible, each procedure is preceded by a consultation. The doctor qualifies the patient for the procedure and orders additional tests. Only after the doctor verifies the test results, can the patient be qualified for the procedure.
Comfort after the procedure
The doctor will provide full post-treatment recommendations after the procedure. Although the procedure does not require hospitalisation, remember that the corrected area can be swollen and painful.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is comfortable for the patient because it is performed under local anaesthesia.
Is one procedure enough?
Usually, one procedure is sufficient for the patient to be satisfied with the results. Sometimes, however, the procedure will need to be repeated.
Do I need to stay overnight?
No. After the procedure, the patient returns home.
